In the Spirit

Nelson Memorial Forest, Marshfield, Massachusetts

Following the overgrown pathways to somewhere...

Where the views stream into depths of joint efforts to make this place a living exhibition.
And each step makes me aware that I may not belong here.
   Yet,
all the suffusing harmonies and melodies come so close when I hear them...

Nelson Forest: ... with a long history of farmland...

Nelson Forest: ... special to see this young forest...

Nelson Forest: ... come to be what she wants to be...

Nelson Forest: ... disordered...

Nelson Forest: ... stream of views...

Nelson Forest: ... into depths of joint efforts...

Nelson Forest: ... to make this place...

Nelson Forest: ... a joint exhibition...

Nelson Forest: ... and each step...

Nelson Forest: ... makes me aware that I may not belong here...

Nelson Forest: ... yet...

Nelson Forest: ... all the suffusing harmonies...

Nelson Forest: ... and melodies...

Nelson Forest: ... come so close...

Nelson Forest: ... when I hear them...

Through the Woods

Charles W. Ward Reservation, Andover, Massachusetts

Late spring or early summer ?
Leaves are still young, bright, perfect.
Mingling through the woods. Dancing with the shadows in light breeze.

Grasses are taller, do not allow cross-walks any more.
And the rocks would not mind.
Ready, as usual, for my boots.

Arriving to the beaver's pond, an artwork of a primeval engineer.
Where all is worked-out without touching anything.
  Or so IT feels.
Some trees were sacrificed. All the rest came by nature. Bringing water to those who need IT.

  Yet meant for a beaver...

Ward Reservation: ... late spring or early summer ?...

Ward Reservation: ... grasses are taller...

Ward Reservation: ... do not allow cross-walks any more...

Ward Reservation: ... and the rocks would not mind...

Ward Reservation: ... what about cross-flights ?...

Ward Reservation: ... leaves are still young, bright, perfect...

Ward Reservation: ... arriving to the beaver's pond...

Ward Reservation: ... where all is worked-out without touching anything...

Ward Reservation: ... some trees were sacrificed, all the rest came by nature...

Ward Reservation: ... young ferns lead the way...

Ward Reservation: ... through the rocky stream passage...

Ward Reservation: ... with some hops...

Ward Reservation: ... and climbs...

Ward Reservation: ... to the top...

Ward Reservation: ... with the long views of Boston...

Ward Reservation: ... and then dive into the leaves...

Ward Reservation: ... wooded browns...

Ward Reservation: ... and greens...

Ward Reservation: ... touching the meadows...

Ward Reservation: ... with flamboyance...

With Others

Lincoln Conservation Land, Massachusetts

I look at this young beech
   gilded with radiant leaves,
singing and dancing on the slightest breeze.

  Shines among pines...

Lincoln: ... with others...

A Touch of Snow

Lincoln Conservation Land, Massachusetts

   Walking Lincoln woodlands...
Some snow on the ground raises the spirits of these sleepy woods.

Highlights the finest branches, fallen leaves, and some more...
     rolling canvas,
a lively show of all those usually missing in the play.

  And I observe...

Lincoln: ... rolling canvas...

Lincoln: ... highlights...

Lincoln: ... in the spirit...

Lincoln: ... of the stars...

Lincoln: ... and I observe...

Lincoln: ... a lively show...

Lincoln: ... of all those usually missing in the play...

Lincoln: ... with others...

A Stroll with the Sun

Great Brook Farm State Park, Massachusetts

The time when snow imbues the woods
and the flurry of crystals billows around my boots,

  but not this time,

  still...

It is winter and I am HERE,
amidst the brown shades, glowing beech leaves, brightly colored mosses,
and the low Sun, always close, like a friend,
with the shadows that come along to enrich...

Great Brook Farm: ... the low Sun, always close, like a friend...

Great Brook Farm: ... amidst glowing beech leaves...

Great Brook Farm: ... through the sunshine...

Great Brook Farm: ... of the only leaves still on branches...

Great Brook Farm: ... in the middle of brown shades...

Great Brook Farm: ... and stretched out shadows...

Great Brook Farm: ... brightly colored earth...

Great Brook Farm: ... and rocks...

Great Brook Farm: ... with some ferns still awake...

Great Brook Farm: ... and light marks of snow...

Great Brook Farm: ... mingling around...

Great Brook Farm: ... among the browns, greens, and young...

Great Brook Farm: ... so much to look at...

Great Brook Farm: ... as the Sun follows each step...

Great Brook Farm: ... and the pathway continues...
