Nashoba Pond, Westford, Massachusetts
The reflection brings me back.
Who am I ???...
Nashoba Pond, Westford, Massachusetts
This pond began as a hole for excavating sand and gravel.
Later on,
it became a part of protected land
which allowed nature to do its own work in making it alive.
Absorbing spoils,
bringing motions, resting islands, and reflections.
And this island.
How did it come about ?
Does it matter ? Not really.
As long as we are all here...
Appleton Farms, Ipswich, Massachusetts
Spring is the time
when birds build nests and
become defensively aggressive towards the enemies,
to protect their young.
Over there,
high up in the tree crown,
a Hawk is being harassed and forced to leave.
We do not want you HERE...
Estabrook Woods, Concord, Massachusetts
Wondrous, glowing...
Without much rain for some time.
Tangled ponds,
in the twilight of colors and motions.
Serene...
Fresh Pond, Cambridge, Massachusetts
Or does it ?
Once in nature, the calendar loses its meaning.
Birds are not attuned to days, months, and years.
These are just instants of time,
and each instant is the seed that allows them to enjoy the living.
This is what it is all about...
Crane Beach, Ipswich, Massachusetts
Long legs in a hurry.
I know these walkabout strides.
Sandpipers !!!
Should be on their way to warm places.
But they are still HERE.
Adorning the edges of sandy coasts, with their swift runs against the waves.
It is all about food, this is what we are told.
Why then do I feel that it is this play with the waves that thrills them?
Such a delight to watch...
