Tully Lake, Massachusetts
Resting on the branch... this silky attire of yellows, browns, grays,
with red drops on the wings and the yellow on the tips of the tail... the crest and the mask...
in perfect harmony with the lake...

Around the Lake
Silver Lake, Breakheart Reservation, Massachusetts
Embraced by the land, Silver Lake does not impose herself the way Ocean does.
Charms in silence, luring the life ever closer...
... gentle breeze sprinkles diamonds over rippling surface... and disappears...

Is it Symmetry?
Fresh Pond, Cambridge, Massachusetts
... when clouds, sunrays, and the Pond bring moments of tranquility... Is it Symmetry?..

The Spirit of Water
Walden Pond, Massachusetts
... where fish come to my feet... dancing shadows touch my body... jovial dragonfly lands on my head... and sparkling ripples follow my strokes... encircled... and embraced...

Diving Colors
Walden Pond, Massachusetts
... Walden is blue at one time and green at another... Lying between the earth and the heavens, it partakes of the color of both. Viewed from a hilltop it reflects the color of the sky; but near at hand it is of a yellowish tint next the shore where you can see the sand, then a light green, which gradually deepens to a uniform dark green... In some lights, viewed even from a hilltop, it is of a vivid green next the shore. Some have referred this to the reflection of the verdure... and it may be simply the result of prevailing blue mixed with the yellow of the sand. Such is the color of its iris...

Breakheart
Breakheart Reservation, Massachusetts
The first time I've heard of the Park is from two ladies we have met on Fells... Breakheart... a strange name for a park. The legend says that the Civil War soldiers training in the area found it "lonely and remote" thus breaking their hearts... This, certainly, is a good reason for a visit...

Frozen Pond
Fresh Pond, Cambridge, Massachusetts
Deeply Frigid Cold. The Pond is frozen. Except for this patch... Rippling... Seagulls flapping... Striking Surface. With twists and turns. Snowy Flecks sprinkled over... Passing by the golf house. Sparrows line the window. Bathing in the Sun. Puffed-up in their parkas... I empathize... Down along the Pond... Underflows streaming beneath. Winding through whiteness...
