45 YEARS of Steps
Walden Pond, Concord, Massachusetts
TOGETHER, to this day...
Cold days keep the snow light and fluffy.
Sculpted personas abound, and
the unseen are present.
Each one molds its own path,
some hurry along, others crisscross, but never meet.
It looks like all of them keep going on purpose,
with a joy of being that transpires through.
I wonder if the traces of our steps feel the same way ?
What a JOURNEY !

Dispensation from Heaven
Great Brook Farm State Park, Massachusetts
We have felt that we almost alone hereabouts practiced this noble art;
though, to tell the truth,
at least if their own assertions are to be received,
most of my townsmen would fain walk sometimes, as I do, but they cannot.
No wealth can buy the requisite leisure,
freedom, and independence which are the capital in this profession.
It comes only by the grace of God.
It requires a direct dispensation from Heaven to become a walker...

When crystals align along the blades of grasses and misty luster suffuses the feelings...

Sleepless
Breakheart Reservation, Massachusetts
Sleepy browns all around
except the mosses,
living brightly on this cloudy winter day...

Living with Ocean
Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Between the ocean and the land... where winds make the rules.
Today is cold and blowy.
Not many birds... they come when it suits them and then leave.
Sands and plants are here, they stay...
... absorbing the ocean and creating a place that resonates with each of my cells...
Is this how it feels to be a part of IT ?

This winter, so far, has been almost snowless, unlike winters I truly love...
... brings me five years back to the winter of 2015, the snowiest Cambridge on record...
... and snowiest memories...
