I can hear birds up in the crowns and the insects flying around.
The leaves go along...
Just about to pass this boulder and a chipmunk appears in the split.
Watching curiously...
We come closer and she is still there, with these widely opened eyes, trying to figure our next move.
There is this feeling that she is on alert, but wants to stay as long as we are here.
So we stay and she stays, looking at each other...
My third initial reaction to the summary of my forecast... is despair. Fear of losing it all... this is not fear for loss of my own well-being. I am comfortable now, and will be long dead when crisis strikes. It is more intense anxiety about the fact that humanity will voluntarily destroy the wonderful world as we know it... In short, I am scared on behalf of what it has taken nature hundreds of millions of years to create...... Piping Plovers...
