Nashoba Pond, Westford, Massachusetts
This pond began as a hole for excavating sand and gravel.
Later on,
it became a part of protected land
which allowed nature to do its own work in making it alive.
Absorbing spoils,
bringing motions, resting islands, and reflections.
And this island.
How did it come about ?
Does it matter ? Not really.
As long as we are all here...
