If I ever have to get away from it all,..., there is simply nothing better than to climb out onto a rock, and sit for hours with nothing in sight but sea and sky. Although the rhythm of the waves beats a kind of time, it is not clock or calendar time. It has no urgency. It happens to be timeless time. I know that I am listening to a rhythm which has been just the same for millions of years, and it takes me out of a world of relentlessly ticking clocks. Clocks for some reason or other always seem to be marching, and, as with armies, marching is never to anything but doom. But in the motion of waves there is no marching rhythm. It harmonizes with our very breathing. It does not count our days. Its pulse is not in the stingy spirit of measuring, of marking out how much still remains. It is the breathing of eternity, like the God Brahma of Indian mythology inhaling and exhaling, manifesting and dissolving the worlds, forever.

Return of The Sun
Today is the longest night. Those Nights. Feels Spooky. Even when Stars light the way. Perhaps this is the reason why they miss me. WELCOME BACK !

A Piece of Glacier Lives On
Lake George, Mount Rainier National Park
I walk along the Lake’s edge. Nested in the bowl sculpted by Glacier before melting away. Sparkling. Coloring. Still Here.

Granite Forest
Dogtown forest, Cape Ann, Massachusetts
In the midst of Cape Ann. Where Glaciers had rolled granite Boulders from afar and left them here thousands of years ago. They have since been adopted by life in the forest. It is late autumn. Trees are without leaves. Allowing the Boulders to be seen. Sitting on the rustling carpet. Taking in the breath of forest. And giving IT back.

In Search of Pu’u ‘O’o
Naulu-Napau Trail, Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, Hawai’i aka Big Island
On Naulu-Napau Trail. Leading closest to Pu’u ‘O’o. An active Kilauea crater. Spewing lava into the Ocean. Shape shifting clouds. Drizzle in the air. Blues here and there. The Sun playing hide and seek. Not Perfect for viewing the Crater. Who waits for PERFECT here? Just GO and see what happens. SURPRISE lasts forever.

Signs of Rainforests
Hilo, Akaka Falls, Hawai’i aka Big island
Hilo Rain. The Ocean is pouring down from the sky. To keep low until the next rise. And then IT falls down again. So it goes on and on to eternity. Rainforests Rejoicing. Rainbows. Favorite Spectators.
