Walden Pond, Massachusetts
We hear them on our walks, those tshcick-a-dee-dee sounds that raise winter spirits.
Somewhere in the crowns, flying from branch to branch,
always in motion but almost never too close to be seen...
And then comes the view, among nearby branches.
Hops, stops, cleans her feathers in a jiffy, hops...
Makes me feel good about this mild winter...

Shines Outside and Inside
Rutland Brook Wildlife Sanctuary, Massachusetts
The clouds have finally dispersed and the open blue is pushing through.
These are the moments to perceive the spectacle of dynamics that the sunlight brings to a woodland.
The whole place is animated in the theatrics of light and shade,
and each atom shines in the Sun's energy bursts...
Is this how JOY comes about ?

A Little Winter
Rutland Brook Wildlife Sanctuary, Massachusetts
Winter is snow, icicles, frost...
all about frozen sparkles, at least in my mind.
But this season, she is nowhere, almost nowhere to be found.
So, we've packed ourselves to look up Rutland, hoping for a little winter...

And So IT Passed
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Our Arctic night,
leaving frosty windows to open-up new worlds
where I can take wings
and arise in faraway forests.

Noanet
Noanet Woodlands, Dover, Massachusetts
Noanet is at the center of these woodlands, such as a spine of the living body.
In the early 19th century, the brook was dammed into the chain of ponds,
helping humans rotate the waterwheel of the iron mill.
The whole venture had stopped soon enough and
Noanet came through, flashing away almost all the remnants
except for the ponds, which have enriched ecology of the place.
Flowing, burbling, and telling stories...
