Tidmarsh

Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary, Plymouth, Massachusetts

Once a farm for growing cranberries,
Tidmarsh underwent the largest ecological restoration ever completed in the Northeast.
Nearly three and a half miles of arrested streams were given back to join others
in making this swampy space alive and connect
the headwaters of Beaver Dam Brook to the ocean so Herrings can journey upstream over again...

This place shows how nature responds to different conditions and how,
  if given a chance,
IT always comes back to the state where each and every part plays a role to sustain the whole...

Tidmarsh: ... bouquets of grasses...

Tidmarsh: ... of swamp lanterns...

Tidmarsh: ... and the notice...

Tidmarsh: ... of the largest ecological restoration...

Tidmarsh: ... miles of arrested streams given back to join others...

Tidmarsh: ... in making this swampy space alive...

Tidmarsh: ... flowing...

Tidmarsh: ... where water holds sway...

Tidmarsh: ... and grasses are homes...

Tidmarsh: ... hideouts...

Tidmarsh: ... and the nursery...

Tidmarsh: ... omnipresent...

Tidmarsh: ... sustaining...

Tidmarsh: ... where the two meet...
