Freezing morning. First Snow is long gone. Wiped out in a hurry. Frosty patterns on the trail. Crystals hold onto the ground. The Sun on the ascent. Glossy coats over ponds. All soon to disappear. I long for the Winter.

When Bubbles Make my Day
Fells Reservation, Massachusetts
Edging along Quarter Mile Pond. Grayness in waiting for the rain. Out of nowhere, there comes this Bubble. Floating in the air. Touching the Pond. Meets its Mirror Image. And then Puff! Disappears. Another coming. And Another. One More... Uplifting rainbow colors dance. A young couple over there. I smile. Thank you guys for the Show!

Coral Sand follows Life
Makalawena Beach, Kekaha Kai State Park, Hawai'i aka Big Island
Walking along. Turquoise ocean in my eyes. Coral sand around my feet. Bits and pieces of corals and shells. Follows Life on Coral Reefs. Rainforests of the Ocean. They Make these beaches humans call Paradise. Today under threat from all the man-made ills that plague the world. Can they survive? Or NOT? No Coral Reefs. No Coral Life. No Coral Sand. No Paradise. I wonder?

Black Sand Comes and Goes
Honomalino Beach, Honomalino Bay, Hawai'i aka Big Island
On our way to visit the Beach some call Black Sand, others Gray Sand. Or Black-and-White. How about Multi Color? Hawaiian black sand beaches are born in explosive encounters between the lava and the ocean. Once the volcano dies out, black sand slowly disappears. Taken away by the ocean. Do mixed sands of Honomalino wave good-bye to black sand?

First Snow
Fells Reservation, Massachusetts
Fells is asleep. In Winter Decorum. Whiteness...Gently curving rocks and boulders. Spreading over ponds and lower stories. Creating the center stage for shadows master play. Emerging Characters. Where is the trail? Sparkling dust flying in front of my boots.
