Water

Noanet Woodlands, Dover, Massachusetts

Snow has left.

Awakening streams are infusing the woods.

  Crisscrossing,

    jumping over rocks,

   rushing through the narrows.

  Burble, burble, burble...

     and I listen...

Noanet Woodlands: … and I listen…

Where are They ?

Walden Pond, Concord, Massachusetts

Warm days have arrived.

Snowflakes are dissolving, not leaving, just changing.

  Do I see them ?

In the rising bubbles of the melting crystals.

  In the unveiled earth patches.

 Watering the woods.

Do I see them in this baby pine ?...

Walden Pond: … warm days have arrived…

Walden Pond: … snowflakes are dissolving…

Walden Pond: … not leaving…

Walden Pond: … just changing…

Walden Pond: … do I see them ?…

Walden Pond: … in the rising bubbles of the melting crystals…

Walden Pond: … in the unveiled earth patches…

Walden Pond: … overtly artisan…

Walden Pond: … do I see them in this baby pine ?…

Traces

Estabrook Woods, Concord, Massachusetts

A few days after the blizzard.

 Soft drifts are at rest

  and

the trees are standing, being themselves.

 Others,

tracing where paths do not appear

   unless already passed.

Stepping on someone's footprints, in the hope that they will hold.

  Sometimes they do,

    very often they don't

and my boot sinks into the hole...

Estabrook Woods: … a few days after…

Estabrook Woods: … soft drifts at rest…

Estabrook Woods: … standing there, being themselves…

Estabrook Woods: … others tracing through…

Estabrook Woods: … staying grounded…

Estabrook Woods: … where paths do not appear…

Estabrook Woods: … unless already passed…

Estabrook Woods: … those that stand…

Estabrook Woods: … stream…

Estabrook Woods: … and roll along…

Estabrook Woods: … parting…

Estabrook Woods: … because trees are on the way…

Estabrook Woods: … it does not matter much, does it ?…

Estabrook Woods: … flowing shadows…

Estabrook Woods: … and a deer’s footprints…

Estabrook Woods: … in the deep snow…
