A wildlife refuge on an island... actually, on half the island...
... there are spots I can reach by carefully managed pathways... and others I cannot...
... I do not mind...
I dream of the world where we, humans, do not go to the wild... by our own will...

Nest in Peace
Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Plum Island, Massachusetts
... we hope for a quiet amble along the ocean... and then...
... the ranger informs us the beach is closed so Piping Plovers have peace during nesting season...
Piping Plovers are SPECIAL birds, threatened with extinction...
... and this is why beach strolls are now reserved for them... and ONLY for them...
... there is still a small piece of beach opened, on the south end of the Refuge...
... here... with sand, rocks, waves, clouds, light, and ducks...
... until arriving at STOP NO ENTRY BEYOND THIS SIGN...
... nest in peace...
