Slowly

Wachusett Meadow, Princeton, Massachusetts

Into the real spring.

The woods feel the energy coming from the young leaves.

  Surfacing inclines and declines,

   spreading brightness.

Shadows of the crowns are not yet here

    and

little flowers know that it is now or never.

  So crisp and intact...

Wachusett Meadow: … the energy…

Wachusett Meadow: … coming from the young leaves…

Wachusett Meadow: … surfacing inclines…

Wachusett Meadow: … into the air…

Wachusett Meadow: … stop…

Wachusett Meadow: … to embrace the moment…

Wachusett Meadow: … of births…

Wachusett Meadow: … along with unfurls of young ferns…

Wachusett Meadow: … cannot overstep…

Wachusett Meadow: … their space…

Wachusett Meadow: … shadows of the crowns are not yet here…

Wachusett Meadow: … and they know that it is now or never…

Into the Early Spring

Ward Reservation, Andover, Massachusetts

First green leaves,

 amidst browns,

   where muddy prevails.

  There!

 I see a bluebird on a branch.

   Seems the time is right

to bring the colors with the wings into the woods...

Ward: … still asleep…

Ward: … while the pines are in the hailing moods…

Ward: … so are the mosses…

Ward: … watching…

Ward: … ardently…

Ward: … first green leaves…

Ward: … amidst browns…

Ward: … so lively close to the earth…

Ward: … where muddy prevails…

Ward: … and lanterns lighten up this world…

Ward: … looking around…

Ward: … seems the time is right…

Ward: … to bring the colors…

Ward: … with the wings…

Ward: … the beaver’s pond is full of water…

Ward: … and the mallards know all about…

Ward: … spring overflows…
