Slowly

Wachusett Meadow, Princeton, Massachusetts

Into the real spring.

The woods feel the energy coming from the young leaves.

  Surfacing inclines and declines,

   spreading brightness.

Shadows of the crowns are not yet here

    and

little flowers know that it is now or never.

  So crisp and intact...

Wachusett Meadow: … the energy…

Wachusett Meadow: … coming from the young leaves…

Wachusett Meadow: … surfacing inclines…

Wachusett Meadow: … into the air…

Wachusett Meadow: … stop…

Wachusett Meadow: … to embrace the moment…

Wachusett Meadow: … of births…

Wachusett Meadow: … along with unfurls of young ferns…

Wachusett Meadow: … cannot overstep…

Wachusett Meadow: … their space…

Wachusett Meadow: … shadows of the crowns are not yet here…

Wachusett Meadow: … and they know that it is now or never…

MAIA

Adams Woods, Concord, Massachusetts

Walking through the spring renewal.
 Young leaves all around,
up-there in the crowns, midway to the touch, close to my boots.

Everywhere...

The beauty of growth suffuses breaths, coming to be a part of my body.

And to be right here, in this moment
 makes me perceive
the players that sustain the life on this planet...

The Sea of Green Light

Estabrook Woods, Concord, Massachusetts

Sunny spring days flow into the woods, waving green light from the crowns.

Makes me think about the leaves, these masters of photosynthesis.
Taking the reds and blues to make energy, and letting the greens color the woods.

Why ?
What makes the greens worthless for the leaves ?

Nobody knows. Some ideas lead to the sea.
Deep waters abound with blue and red light, not so much with the green.
Therefore,
the ancestor who lived down there did not evolve the chlorophyll to absorb  green light.

Can then this GREEN be a reminder that all of us came from the sea ?

I love the spirit,
as if being at the bottom of the sea and looking up to its restless surface...

And Then the Leaves

Drumlin & Van Leer & Ogilvie Land, Massachusetts

So special to be in woods at the time of spring awakening,
   inducing these ethereal greens,
the overtones of creative energies to be seen and sensed.

Young leaves, perfect in form and color,
   precisely as imagined,
arising on branches, pushing through fallen leaves and muddy swamps.

With the specks of little flowers...

Ogilvie Forest: ... awakening...

Ogilvie Forest: ... of muddy swamps...

Ogilvie Forest: ... and passages...

Ogilvie Forest: ... of flowers...

Ogilvie Forest: ... taking notice...

Ogilvie Forest: ... in the swirls of energy...

Ogilvie Forest: ... precisely as imagined...

Ogilvie Forest: ... purely absolute...

Ogilvie Forest: ... transform the light to form...

Ogilvie Forest: ... pushing through...

Ogilvie Forest: ... with smiley faces...

Ogilvie Forest: ... of renewal...

Ogilvie Forest: ... in continuity...

Ogilvie Forest: ... inducing these ethereal greens...

Ogilvie Forest: ... and the moments...

Ogilvie Forest: ... to remember...

Ogilvie Forest: ... once...

Ogilvie Forest: ... and many times...

Ogilvie Forest: ... while some are watching...
