When Nature comes for a visit
it feels as if the urban life has stopped.
Cars are not moving.
Streets,
empty of the traffic sounds. None to be heard.
Bikes are hanging in there, waiting.
Robin looks around from the branch,
somewhat surprised
or NOT
and then flies away.
Leaving me in the crystal whirlpools of silence...

Just a pass along the grove of Sumac makes me stop
to look at the bees buzzing around clusters of yellow flowers...
they do no seem to note or care...
Pollen baskets on their legs feel heavy, but not to them.
The cargo is deftly packed,
grains of pollen mixed with nectar hold well
and this extra weight does not hinder their flight.
More or less the same as my backpack...
