   in the twilight of colors and motions.

Who Enjoys Winter ?

Habitat, Belmont, Massachusetts

Brings fresh breaths and silence,  
      with the notes of my own steps and Chick-A-Dee-Dee calls.

And then
  I turn my head to the side, and here they are,
    the eyes and the ears,
      with no questions, not a sign of fear, as if they know us well.

Allens Pond

Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary, Massachusetts

The amalgam of woods, swamps, meadows,
  and the rocky paths,
   edging the pond that breathes the Ocean's tidal motions.
 
Feels like home to flaps and jumps...
   
From rock to rock, over the brook, through the leafy hideouts,
  onto the blooming collage,   
    where each flower is just about where it should be...
