Grand Manan, Bay of Fundy, Canada
On the road...
... from the end of the Flock of Sheep trail to the point where the hike began...
... so clean... and quiet...
... flowers along the edge hold my focus... a car passes by here and there...

Flock of Sheep
Grand Manan, Bay of Fundy, Canada
On the trail to Flock of Sheep... a group of whitish boulders tumbled onto the island by glaciers.
Fishermen named them Flock of Sheep because they looked like sheep from the Ocean...

... The last glacier disappeared from this area about 14,500 years ago. That means Flock of Sheep are barely lambs on the Geological Time Scale, considering that the oldest rocks exposed on the island are around 618 million years old... [Chuck Letourneau]Meet the Past...

Seagulls' bathtub
Anchorage Park, Grand Manan, Bay of Fundy, Canada
There is this fresh water pond separated from the Ocean by sand dunes...
... the place where seagulls love to take baths...
... then overfly the dunes and rest on the low-tide exposed rocks...
What a joy watching them in their daily routine !

Hiking North Head
Grand Manan, Bay of Fundy, Canada
The trail is edging the Ocean along North Head...
... winding through grasses, flowers, ferns and trees... yet close to the bluffs... tumbling...
... in some instants just few steps away...
... makes me uneasy...
... and then I see a seal... and smile...
