The island is a glacier formed drumlin at the mouth of Essex River.
Long loved by humans.
 Agawam Indians, Choate Family, Crane Family.
  Lots of stories, buried in the clam shells, rocks and earth, in the grasses and spruces.
   Houses.

 None lives here today.

 Only the island, in its animate solitude, with the white clouds...
