Doane's Falls, Royalston, Massachusetts
Hemlock sparkles amidst the whooshing vibrations of cascading Lawrence
and the ferns, mosses and lichens listen, safe and sound on the rocks.
Coming together to flourish in the glamour of passing through...

A Salute to Spring
Doane's Falls, Royalston, Massachusetts
On this first day of spring, not much to show. No leaves, no flowers, no insects...
Only a hunch of being hidden in the sounds of waterfalls.

Water
Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary, Massachusetts
A glimmer of winter is reflecting off of sculpted motions of burbling streams.
Gurgles permeate the woods,
frozen sprinkles and bounces suspend the time.
Amidst the soon to be awakened... it is all about water, isn't it ?

Lots of Rain
Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, Massachusetts
The place where life loves water and the rain is welcomed.
Water lilies are in bloom,
those white petals, the stardust of ponds, always come close.
Otter Alley is flooded, I can hear the water flowing over.
There are some wobbly branches acting as a pass through, not convincing, but...
hey, we are here, a touch of water won't hurt.
I wonder what would the Otter make of this scene ?

Fresh in Water
Bradley Palmer State Park, Massachusetts
Special to walk along Ipswich River at this time.
Rich in flow, moves in silence, and attracts.
Mergansers have just touched the surface, continue paddling downstream...
Swiftly lost from the sight.
At the old mill site, we see them again...

In Thoreau's Footsteps
Concord Conservation Land, Massachusetts
Early spring is about water.
Overflowing ponds, streams, rivers and rains prepare earth for the revival.
Today, we walk the paths where Thoreau sauntered almost 200 years before.
Through the land which includes Walden Pond
and the woods that stretch all the way to Sudbury river and his beloved Fairhaven.
At that time, mostly a farmland with hills opened to long views Thoreau enjoyed so much.
Now a woodland, in the life of her own, without the views.
Yet Sudbury is still here,
with just about the same spring overflows...
